Picture of Shakespeare Projects

Did you know that here at West Point Jr. High, our 9th grade honors English class completes a term long project? I know that myself, and many other students were unaware of this. These projects, called the Shakespeare Projects, are truly interesting and truly show the talent of the students at our school. Upon questioning Mrs. Middleton on what these “Shakespeare Projects” are, she had replied with, “They (9th grade honors students) are given a research project, and they can choose anything that has to do with Shakespeare or the Elizabethan Era.” If you were to ask me, this sounds like it would be a fun project! While I was talking with her, she also told me that her favorite part of these activities is being able to see their creative side come out as they work. As an English teacher, she doesn’t get to see that often and finds it fun to watch the students be excited about this project. As fun as this project sounds, it is important to note that these projects will mostly be completed at home except for a research day in class. This may make some students weary of joining honors English in 9th grade, but from what I have heard, most students who have completed these projects enjoy them deeply. So, what do you think Warriors? Will you complete the Shakespeare Projects yourself?
