In March, Sunset Elementary's Jr. Hope Squad, made up of 4th, 5th and 6th graders, attended the Hope for Utah conference at Viewmont High School. Forty elementary schools from across Utah participated in the event, which focused on teaching students’ empathy, resilience and how to connect with others.
“It was cool to be around so much positive energy and to share ideas with other schools to help us grow,” 6th grader Michelle said.
The conference covered key topics including:
Building relationships
Cultivating empathy
Understanding ourselves
Developing resilience
Bullying prevention
We are so proud of our Jr. Hope Squad and all the hard work these students put into making our school a better place for everyone. The conference helped them gain valuable tools to foster positive environments and support their peers.
