April is the Month of the Military Child!
Join Student 2 Student as we celebrate the strength, resilience, and bravery of military-connected kids in our community.
Let’s show our support by wearing PURPLE every Friday in April—because purple represents the combined colors of all military branches. It’s a simple way to say: We see you. We support you. We appreciate you.
Join us for Purple Up Week (April 13-17)
Monday, April 13: Wear Red (Remember Every Deployed)
Tuesday, April 14: Camo Day (Wear camouflage.)
Wednesday, April 15: Wear PJs (School-appropriate PJs, “Our military never sleeps on the job!”)
Thursday, April 16: Be Patriotic (Wear any combo of Red/White/Blue.)
Friday, April 17: Wear Purple

Everyone plays a role in helping children have healthy and positive childhoods.
Positive Childhood Experiences occur when children experience safe, stable nurturing relationships and environments.

Happy National School Librarian Day!
April 4th is National School Librarian Day. Join us in thanking Mrs. Herbert for all she does and for inspiring a lifelong love of reading and learning!
From connecting students with books they love to teaching essential research and media literacy skills, Mrs. Herbert makes the library a welcoming space where curiosity, creativity, and learning thrive every day. Sunset Junior High is stronger because of her passion, dedication, and support for our students and staff.
