Today, we rounded out an amazing HOPE Week at Sunset Junior High with “Bits of Brightness” Pajama Day, and our students absolutely brought the vibes!
The library turned into a full-on karaoke party at lunch, complete with big smiles, brave singers, and lots of cheering. Thanks to everyone who participated, laughed, sang, and helped spread positivity all week long. Here’s to carrying that HOPE and brightness forward!

AP Human Geography Parent Meeting
March 10th at 5 PM in the library
Things to know:
1. This is similar to an introductory college geography course.
2. Student Lexile: recommended L1100 or higher (see your English teacher for your score)
3. Attendance is critical
4. College credit if score 3, 4, or 5 on the AP test in early May 2027
5. Be prepared to do about an hour of homework every other day
6. Improve your writing skills
7. Learn to read and use textbook notes
8. Increase your organizational skills

• The medical history form
• The parental consent form
All must be completed and uploaded through Aktivate under Physical Documents.
All 3 forms must be uploaded at the exact same time.

Students interested in joining the Sunset Jr. High Track Team are encouraged to complete Aktivate registration as soon as possible.

America is turning 250 — and our students have something to say.
Davis School District is hosting Voices of a Nation: Student Perspectives on 250 Years of America, a districtwide speaking event aligned with America 250 Utah.
Students from every school and grade level are invited to apply to deliver an original speech about America’s past, present or future.
Selected students will receive mentorship and take the stage on May 4, 2026, at the Davis Instructional Services Center in Layton. The event will be professionally produced and live streamed for the community.
You don’t have to be famous to have something worth saying.
Take the mic. Share your idea. Be part of the story.
