
Our King Team is hard at work today in professional development to move us forward in supportive student and staff growth.


Two of our King Lions represented our school amazingly well at the District Dr Martin Luther King Speech Finals. We are so proud of them!

Our school had some special visitors today! Superintendent Linford and a couple of school board members dropped by to see some of the things happening at King Elementary. They also came to give recognition to Andrea Anderson for being an outstanding DSD employee!



Girls and boys from grades K-6 are invited to join Layton High School for a mini cheer clinic. November 4th - 7th from 3:45-4:45pm in our school gym. With a final performance at the Cheer Showcase in Layton High School gym at 6:30pm.


Hey parents! Is your child someone who loves to share their artwork? Would they want to create the cover for this year's yearbook? We're having a contest!
Details: All entries are due November 8th and need to be turned into the front office.
Materials: Use an 8.5" x 11" white cardstock paper & colored pencils. You can get the cardstock from the office. Make sure your first and last name is on the back of the picture. Suggestions: include our mascot the lion. our R.O.A.R. theme, or have it be about the house system


Every month, our wonderful principal Mrs. Johnson does a read-aloud with each class. Here she was today with some second-graders after reading 'The Power of One'.


Are you a fan of the author Brandon Mull? Davis School District is hosting a book signing at Syracuse High School on October 4th at 5:00pm.


Parent-Teacher conferences are almost here! Starting September 17th through the 25th, signups will be available in your parent/guardian MyDSD portal. Any parent that doesn't choose a signup slot, will be automatically assigned a time once the scheduling window has closed.
Both Wednesday the 2nd and Thursday the 3rd will follow an early release schedule at 1:30pm.

At the end of their tall tales unit and from learning about Pecos Bill, our 2nd graders got to learn how to make a tornado in a bottle and see it in action.

On Thursday, September 19th from 5:00-7:00 pm we are having our spirit night!
This will be our first house competition of the year! Students, wear your shirt or colors. Come and complete the scavenger hunt and activities which will help you earn points for your house!
There will be free food, games, the scavenger hunt, and fun!
We hope to see all our King Lions! Make sure to represent your house! 💙 💚 ❤️ 🖤 Will the House of Reveur keep hold of the title of Spirit Night champs? Or will another House take that coveted trophy? We shall soon see!


In Miss Berrett's second grade class, her class gets 1 free book a month thanks to friends and family of Miss Berrett who donated to her Scholastic Book Club fundraiser. Here they are with their first book!


Purple Star Schools night is this Thursday, September 5th from 5:00-8:00 pm. We hope to see you there! Location: Hill Aerospace Museum


School pictures are coming up very quickly! They will be on September 12th. Make sure to check your student(s) backpack(s) for order forms this week if you plan to get any.

Mrs. Neville was the big winner of the Beehive Meals contest from the Show Up for Teachers conference that Abby Cox put on this summer. Beehive Meals donated 5 meals to every staff member at our school! Thank you Beehive Meals!




The Office of Equal Opportunity announces the Martin Luther King Jr. speech contest. Requirements: one student per category (Grades K-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-9, 10-12) per school. Theme - any portion from a single Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. speech. Time limit is one minute minimum with three minutes maximum. Speech can be presented in English or another language.
Awards: 1st place receives $100, 2nd place receives $75, and 3rd place receives $50

One of our favorite volunteers in Mrs. Wright's 1st grade classroom, Mr. Rich, received a Hometown Hero award last Friday! We are so lucky to have him at our school.
