As part of their capstone project on water conservation, our Earth Science students took a field trip to Antelope Island, where they collected data through hands-on field observations. This experience allowed students to connect what they’ve learned in class to the real world and deepen their understanding of Earth systems.

Our Biology students also had the opportunity to explore the unique ecosystem of the Great Salt Lake, gaining firsthand insight into this one-of-a-kind environment.

We are so grateful for the continued support from our community in helping make meaningful, real-world learning experiences possible for our students.

Mrs. Edwards’ class had the amazing opportunity to go backstage at the Hale Centre Theatre. Students were able to see behind the scenes of this incredible theater and learn more about the work that goes into creating the performances audiences enjoy. From the stage to the technical areas, it was an exciting experience to see how everything comes together.

What an amazing place and a fun learning opportunity for our students!

Congratulations to our 2025 Excellence in Education Award — Secondary Honorees: Lindsey Kensinger and Kristine Starkey!

Mrs. Kensinger and Mrs. Starkey received the Excellence in Education Award because their students demonstrated exceptional academic growth compared to other students across Utah who began at similar achievement levels. These awards recognize educators whose teaching helped students to improve more than most of their peers statewide and highlights their impact on student learning and progress.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the You Are the Heart Murdock Family Foundation for making this award possible. We also appreciate Kara Toone from the Davis Education Foundation and Director Jason Smith for taking the time to personally recognize and present this award to our outstanding educators.

Students in Mr. Ferlin’s Psychology class had the opportunity to examine sheep brains as part of a hands-on lab. This activity helped them better understand brain structure and how the different parts of the brain work together. Experiences like this bring learning to life.

We had an amazing Stand4Kind assembly!

Students were inspired to think about kindness, empathy, resilience, and how they can stand up for themselves and others in our school community. This powerful presentation gave everyone practical strategies for creating a positive, supportive school culture and reminded us that we all have the ability to make our school a kinder place.

Thank you to @Stand4Kind for coming to speak with us and helping our students feel empowered and connected!
