Davis School District students recently joined readers across Utah for the statewide Utah Reads Read-a-Thon.
At elementary schools, principals and teachers traded a few minutes of the school day for story time, reading aloud to students and sharing the joy of a good book. At junior highs, students got 15 minutes at the beginning of each class period to settle in with a book of their choice, while librarians stayed busy helping students find their next great story.
High school students got even more time to turn the page, with an hour dedicated to diving into a book.
From picture books to page-turners, students and educators showed that there is always time to read.
