Two Davis School District elementary schools are being recognized for their commitment to French language education and dual language immersion. Foxboro and Morgan elementaries were among three Utah schools recently awarded the LabelFrancÉducation, a designation from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs recognizing schools that provide high-quality French language education.

Representatives from the French Embassy in San Francisco traveled to Utah to present the recognition. The designation highlights schools that incorporate French language instruction across multiple subject areas. To qualify, schools must teach in French for at least 20% of the school day.

At Morgan Elementary, French immersion students learn in French as part of their elementary education, with the program providing students opportunities to develop language skills while learning academic content. The designation must be renewed every five years through an extensive application process and provides schools with access to French-language resources and funding opportunities.

At Foxboro Elementary, students learn Utah academic standards in French throughout the elementary grades. Instruction includes French literacy and math in the lower grades, with science introduced along the way. In fourth through sixth grades, students continue learning French literacy, grammar, science and social studies in French.
