This upcoming school year, Clearfield High School students will have expanded opportunities to learn, explore careers and build real-world skills with the addition of a new Career and Technical Education (CTE) building.
A ribbon cutting was recently held to celebrate the new facility, which will bring 15 CTE programs together in one building. The programs include agriculture, automotive, business, CNA, composites, computer science, culinary arts, digital media, engineering, family and consumer sciences, health sciences, photography, video production, welding and woodworking construction.
Before the ribbon was cut, a short program highlighted the importance of CTE education and the opportunities the new facility will provide for Clearfield High students. Speakers included Principal TJ Barker, Davis School District Board Member Kristen Hogan, DSD CTE Director Brian Hunt and Superintendent Dr. Dan Linford.
The new building is designed to give students opportunities to connect their classroom education with hands-on learning and future careers. By bringing the school’s CTE programs together in a dedicated facility, students will have more space and resources to develop skills that can prepare them for college, career and life after high school.
The project is part of Davis School District’s 2022 “Building Generations” bond, which was approved by Davis County voters. The bond provided funding for the construction of the new Clearfield High CTE building and represents an investment in expanding opportunities for students across the district.
