As Veterans Day approaches, Davis School District is calling on the community to come together in support of military families affected by the ongoing government shutdown. Through a food drive organized by the Student and Family Resources Department, residents have a meaningful opportunity to give back to those who have given so much.
The initiative benefits the Airman’s Attic, a resource for active-duty service members, National Guard, Reserve personnel and federally employed civilians, many of whom are now facing unexpected financial strain due to the shutdown.
“This food drive offers a chance for our community to stand beside these families, to say thank you in a tangible way, and to remind them that they are not forgotten or alone during this difficult time,” Military Educational Therapist Jenn Rupp said.
Donations of non-perishable food and household items such as pasta, canned meats, cereal, diapers and hygiene products will be accepted through Nov. 21. Community members are encouraged to drop off items at either of the following locations:
North Layton Jr. High (Military Support Team portable, north lot)
Student and Family Resources (Kendell Building, 70 E 100 N, Farmington)
As we celebrate Veterans Week, this effort serves as a powerful reminder that gratitude is best shown through action. Davis School District invites everyone to participate and help ease the burden for those who serve
