Joceline Ruiz

This Hispanic Heritage Month, Davis School District is proud to highlight Joceline Ruiz, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst working on the Behavior Analysis Intervention Team. Ruiz is passionate about building supportive environments where all students can succeed.

“It’s incredibly fulfilling to see students gain new skills and confidence and thrive in their classrooms and communities,” Ruiz said.

Her family’s story has been a defining influence in her life. Both her parents and her husband immigrated to the United States.

“Their sacrifices and hard work have instilled in me a deep appreciation for the possibilities I have,” Ruiz said. “They taught me to see obstacles and challenges as opportunities for growth.”

Growing up in a household where her parents spoke limited English gave Ruiz a personal understanding of the barriers families can face in schools.

“I strive to ensure that every family feels heard, understood and included,” she said.

Becoming the first member of her family to graduate from college was a milestone that continues to inspire her work.
