The Davis School District has a longstanding commitment to supporting advanced learners. Full-time Davis Enhanced Education Program (DEEP) magnet classes have been offered to identified gifted and talented elementary students for many years.

At the junior high level, accelerated math has been offered as an option for students who are highly proficient in math. While not a part of DEEP, accelerated math moves at a faster pace and gives students the option to take additional advanced math classes in high school.

In an effort to continue to meet the needs of advanced learners, we are offering DEEP classes for 7th and 8th grade students at three junior high schools (Shoreline, South Davis, and West Point) during the 2025-26 school year. These classes offer a rigorous, differentiated curriculum developed specifically for gifted and talented learners. We will also continue to offer accelerated math to 7th grade students at all junior highs.

Students may choose to be considered for DEEP classes, accelerated math, or both.
