Early Career Professional Learning
(Formally known as the EDEL Series)
What is the Early Career Professional Learning series?
Our Early Career sessions are for teachers who have taught at least one full year. These professional learning sessions are highly engaging, interactive, and focused on best practices of instruction and professionalism connected to our Evaluate Davis Standards and Indicators.
The Early Career sessions offer new teachers a unique opportunity to reflect in a community of practice in a shared or independent learning space.
Early Career sessions are offered in two personalized settings:
Ready to Learn: 2 hour, in-person session with colleagues including modeled strategies, interactive discussions, hands-on activities, guided reflection, and take-a-ways. For those who want the shared learner experience. Sessions are located at the Davis Instructional Service Center (DISC).
Ready to Demonstrate Competency: 1 hour remote session followed by a submission of video evidence and reflective analysis of practice. For those who feel they're ready to demonstrate specific competencies related to that month's topic.
How many sessions are in the series?
Teachers must complete eight sessions over the course of two years. They can self-select the order and setting in which they complete each session. Teachers earn .5 USBE credit for every 4 completed sessions.
