  • Library Woods Cross Elementary Media Center Disclosure 2016-2017library

The Woods Cross Media Center policies are described below. Please review these with your child. Thank you for helping your child learn responsibility by supporting the appropriate use of the Media Center.

    • Each class has an assigned time to visit the Media Center. Kindergarten through sixth grades will attend for 30 minutes each week.
    • In addition to regular class times, the Media Center is open for book exchange at specified times each day. Students may exchange their books at any of these times and they do not have to wait to come with their class. They will need their teacher’s permission.
    • Kindergarten and first grade may check out one book at a time. Kindergarten books remain in the classroom. Second through sixth grades may check out two books at a time.
    • Books are checked out for 14 days, after which they are overdue. If a student has an overdue book, they may not check out another book until the overdue book is returned or the fine paid if it is lost. They are NOT fined for overdue books.
    • Books that are lost or damaged must be paid for. This is a Davis School District Policy (average book costs $20.00).
    • The theme for this year is “Every Hero Has A Story “. Through stories, games, displays, and videos, students will learn how reading can be fun and full of exciting adventures. Students will also learn library skills appropriate for each grade level according to the Davis School District DESK Standards and State Library Core Curriculum.

Please help your child learn to care for books properly. This includes washing hands before handling books, not eating while reading, not marking or bending pages, keeping library books away from younger children and pets, and returning books to the library on time.

    Thank you,

    Mrs. Zesiger (Media Specialist)
