    NHS Counselors are student focused. We are committed to provide ALL students a variety of opportunites to participate in post high school planning, career exploration, and career pathway completion.

     

    NHS Counselors follow the Utah State Board of Education guidelines of the Utah College and Career Readiness School Counseling Prgram. Our main areas of focus are: Plan for College and Career ReadinessSystemic Approach to Dropout Prevention with Social/Emotional Supports, Collaborative Classroom Instruction, and Systemic Management. The variety of opportunities that NHS counselors provide to students, parents, and school community are listed below.

     


    Plan for College and Career Readiness

    • First Knight - incoming 10th grade course requests, program information, building tour  
    • Small group College and Career Ready information presentations
    • Individual appointments with all Juniors and their parent/guardian to discuss individual educational and career goals
    • Daily student meetings before or after school, lunch, or during tutorial
    • Quarterly Senior Updates
    • Post High School Day - Seniors (in the Fall) and Juniors (in the Spring)
