  • Did you know PowerPoint has a built-in screen recording, and a "Publish to Stream" feature? This is a great tool for Remote Learning, PD, and training videos. Videos can also be saved as standalone MP4 files and used in Canvas or Microsoft Teams.

Excel

  • Every Microsoft Class Team comes with its own linked OneNote Class Notebook. Your Class Notebook is a digital notebook for the whole class to store text, images, handwritten notes, attachments, links, voice, video, and more. On this website you will learn:

Streamable

• Find the video you would like to download from YouTube, Vimeo, TED Talk, etc.
• Copy the URL for the video.
• Go to http://www.streamable.com
• Paste the URL in the URL box located at the top of the page.
• Trim or crop the video as needed.
• Click on Create Video
• Wait until the video has finished processing. When it has finished processing, you will see 3 dots in the lower left corner. Click on the 3 dots and select Download.
• Once the video has been downloaded, it can be uploaded to Microsoft Stream, your O365 OneDrive, Canvas or Microsoft Teams and shared with students.

4K Video Downloader

• Go to https://www.4kdownload.com/products/product-videodownloader and download the 4K Video Downloader to your computer.
• Find the video you would like to download from YouTube, Vimeo, etc.
• Copy the URL for the video.
• Open the 4K Video Downloader program that was downloaded to your computer.
• Click on the Paste Link button in the upper left corner.
• Choose the quality of the video and also the location where you want to save the video, then click on the Download button.
• Once the video has been downloaded, it can be uploaded to Microsoft Stream, your Office 365 OneDrive, Canvas or Microsoft Teams and shared with students.

Microsoft Stream is a video service in Office 365 that makes it easy to create videos, securely share videos, and interact with videos, whether in a team or across your organization.

Nearpod is a student engagement platform with ready-to-run interactive lessons for K-12 teachers.

To get started using pre-made lessons in Nearpod:

• Go to http://www.nearpod.com and click on Log In then click on Login with Office 365 and sign in with your district email address and password. 
• Click on Nearpod Lesson Library to search for a pre-made existing lesson.
• To narrow your search, choose a Subject and Grade Level and then type in a keyword in the search box.
• Once you find a lesson, click on the lesson to Preview it, then click on Add to My Library to get a copy of the lesson in your own Nearpod account. 
• Click on Show in My Library to open the lesson.
• To share the lesson with your students, choose Student-Paced or Live Lesson.
  • In a remote learning type of setting, it would most likely work best to choose Student-Paced to allow the students to go through the lesson at their own pace. You will get a "code" for the lesson that you can then share with students in a variety of formats, i.e., the code can be emailed to the students, the code can be shared in a Canvas course or in a Microsoft Team as an assignment. Tell the students they will need to sign into the lesson using their own name so you can give them credit for completing the lesson.

Flipgrid is a social learning platform that allows educators to ask a question, then the students respond in a video. Students are then able to respond to one another, creating a “web” of discussion.

To access District approved apps and programs in Clever:

Step by step instructions:

• Go to the Davis School District homepage, then click on Select a School at the top of the page and find the school your child attends.
• Click on Quicklinks located in the upper right corner of the school website.
• In the 'School Links' section located at the top of Quicklinks, click on Student Resources. 
  • The programs and apps listed in the 'Programs with an Office 365 Login (Clever) section are apps that have been approved by the District and allow students to sign in using a single sign on with their Office 365 usernames/passwords.  
• Click on one of the apps then click on the Login with Office 365 button and if prompted, login with the student login (student_username@go.dsdmail.net) and password. You will then see the Clever dashboard. Click on the app a second time to get instant access to the app. 

UEN has launched a website called Learn@Home. The site consolidates timely resources for PreK-Grade 12 teachers, students, and parents/caregivers. While many of the resources are for students with home Internet access, you’ll also see a link to our UEN-TV schedule with educational programming that is available statewide through television channel 9.1., and programs for early learners from PBS Utah, including the 24/7 kids channel. This site will continue to be updated with resources as they become available.

eMedia is a digital library of educational resources created specifically for Utah learners. Explore, create, and collaborate with educators around the state to improve curriculum.

To access UEN's eMedia premier video resources:

• Go to https://emedia.uen.org/
• Click on Sign In in the upper right corner and sign in with your UEN username and password.
  • If you do not have a UEN username and password, there is a "Register" link at the bottom of the login information section.
• Search by keyword, subject, grade level, etc.
• Find the video you would like to use, then click on View Resource.
• At the top of the video screen, you should see an "eMedia toolbar." On this bar there is a Link button. Click on this link to get a link that you can copy. Copy the link.
• Share the link with students in Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Nearpod, email, etc.
