Wendy Dimick-  A little bit about myself……

Well, I am one of the original teachers that helped open the school in 1992.  I used to be in charge of the cheerleaders and helped write the fight song and choreograph the actions to it.  I am still so proud to be a knight.  I taught at Viewmont High school for a couple of years, and when I checked out Northridge (being built) and saw the beautiful, spacious, art rooms with huge windows and high ceilings, I was sold!  I have been so happy here— have thoroughly enjoyed teaching teenagers and doing art along with them for the past 25 years.

I teach drawing, pottery (occasionally), and the painting classes here at NHS.  Painting is my passion—watercolor and acrylics.  When I am not teaching school, I paint murals (in restaurants, schools, parade homes, etc.), portraits, and create oversized clocks (4‘ – 6.5’ ) on the side.  I need art like most people need food.   A few years ago, my students and I painted 17 of the life size horses that are on display every summer in Ogden on 25th street.  We have done murals for Hill Air Force Base, created creepy back drops for spook alleys, painted sets for the school musicals/plays, painted tomb stones for Red Ribbon Week, and many more creative projects.

I also really enjoy running, biking, swimming, hiking, snowboarding, boating, travelling, going to 80’s concerts, and much more.   I have run 10 full marathons so far and have plans to do more—love that “runner’s high”.    My 4 kids tell me that I have way too many hobbies.
