Board approves another 1 percent employee stipend

The Davis School District Superintendency recommended, and the Davis School District Board of Education unanimously approved, an additional 1 percent one-time stipend for all employees based on their annual income.

That one percent is on top of a 1 percent one-time stipend unanimously approved by board members earlier this year following negotiations with the Davis Education Association and the Davis Education Support Professionals group.

The stipend—which now totals 2 percent—will be reflected in the November paycheck of all employees.

Following the meeting, School Board President John Robison commented, "In a heartbeat, the board said let’s add another percent. It was an easy decision, and anytime we are in the position to do that, it would always be strongly considered by the board. We really value our employees."

Board Vice President Marie Stevenson was quick to also recognize District Business Administrator Craig Carter, Finance/Accounting Administrator Tim Leffel and the district's finance department.

"Because of the great management of our dollars, we are able to do it," Stevenson said.
