Lakeside Elementary Amazing Shake finals

Lakeside Elementary School recently hosted its inaugural Amazing Shake Competition, and it was nothing short of AMAZING. After five intense rounds, three students emerged as finalists, captivating the entire school from third to sixth grade with their inspiring speeches.

The distinguished panel of judges, featuring West Point City Mayor Brian Vincent, Davis District School Board member Emily Price, and Assistant Superintendent John Zurbuchen, had the challenging task of selecting the ultimate Amazing Shake winner.

The students navigated all five rounds that included activities such as a 'work the room' event, a chance to teach a lesson to fourth graders, and a tough scenario where they had to step into the shoes of a boss making a difficult decision. The Amazing Shake competition, born at the Ron Clark Academy, aims to help elementary school students polish their eye contact, confidence, and poise during conversations.

Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication. Lakeside Elementary is fostering a community of confident communicators and future leaders.
