The Utah Department of Health continues to see an increased request for rapid testing clinics. In addition to the state-run clinics at Woods Cross High School and Freeport Center, a new clinic will be opened in the Davis Technical College (DTC) Student Commons.
Any member of the public can receive those COVID-19 tests for free whether they believe they exhibit symptoms of the virus or not. That includes students and staff of the school district who want to return to school after a seven-day quarantine rather than wait to return after 10 days. These clinics are not run by the Davis School District.
All clinics will run on the days listed.
The days, times and registration for the clinics are as follows:
• Freeport Center, Building C-5, Clearfield (from Antelope Drive, enter at 300 West and continue to C Street), Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 7 a.m. to noon (each day) and Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Register here.
• Davis Technical College, 550 E. 300 South, Kaysville (a mobile van event held in P1 parking lot on the south side of campus on Davis Tech Drive), Tuesdays and Thursdays 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (The schedule applies through April 15.) Register here.
• Woods Cross High School, 600 W. 2200 South, Woods Cross (inside in the theater – use the main entrance and follow the signs), Friday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Register here. (The same schedule will apply through the end of April)
For those unfamiliar with Building C-5, directions are as follows:
As you head North on I-15
Take Exit 322
Turn left onto Antelope Drive, and head west.
Go to the seventh light, and turn right on 300 West.
Head north and turn right on C Street.
Follow the signs and instructions from there.
As you head South on I-15
Take Exit 322
Turn right on Antelope Drive, and head west.
Go to the sixth light, and turn right on 300 West
Head north and turn right on C Street
Follow the signs and instructions from there.
In a related note, those whose schedules will still not allow them to break away to the Freeport Center or Woods Cross High School can receive free rapid tests by contacting the COVID aides at their neighborhood high school. Those aides will have the schedule of testing times —which correspond with Test to Play tests that our school nurses conduct for students participating in co-curricular activities.
IMPORTANT: The free rapid testing sites operated by the Utah Department of Health as scheduled above will accept those with COVID symptoms and those without. Employees whose schedules only allow them to get tested at our high school Test to Play sites must be symptom-free.
