Accreditation—Davis School District
Davis School District has successfully completed the rigorous process of a system-wide accreditation through Cognia (formerly AdvancED)!
Davis first achieved systems accreditation in January 2015, and was the first district in the state of Utah to do so. System accreditation means each of the district's 91 schools (elementary, junior high, and high schools) is accredited by Cognia, the largest accrediting organization in the world. Accreditation status is reviewed once every five years.
In October of 2019, an 18 member team conducted more than 700 interviews with district and school leaders, parents, community members, and students; reviewed documentation of virtually every aspect of a large district; and observed over 250 classrooms. The district has received a report from Cognia which indicates it is performing at very high levels in most areas, and offers insight into areas where improvements can be made.
