Chamber names District Employer of the Year
The Davis Chamber of Commerce named Davis School District Employer of the Year during its annual Business Awards Banquet.
The District was a finalist for the award alongside Chick-Fil-A and Young Automotive.
Davis School District is the second largest employer in Davis County. More than 8,000 employees work in the district’s 90 schools and administrative offices. The district believes every employee is an educator. The work its employees do touches the lives of more than 73,000 students.
The district held multiple events in 2018-19 to demonstrate appreciation and reward employees for service, including the following:
• A Lagoon Family Employee Night attended by employees and their families.
• The Davis Dash, which includes a walk/run, entertainment and booths.
• The Best of Davis recognition where 40 licensed and classified employees were awarded for exemplary service.
The district is also focused on offering a competitive salary and benefit package. For the 2019-20 school year, all employees received a salary increase of 4.75 percent. Staff continuously work with universities to develop strong partnerships in providing effective student teaching programs. The district is also committed to recruiting a quality pool of teaching applicants.
