  • online library
UEN's Utah Online Library is available in school and from home for free!

A few of the resources include:

    • World Book Encyclopedia
    • Ccitation builder to help with siting sources
    • EBSCO, which features full text magazine articles, biographies, reference books, maps and flags.
    • Culture Grams has information on more than 200 countries.
    • Gale Research in Context also covers cultures, and geography, government, literature, social issues, US and world history, and more.
    • Newspaper Sources such as the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News and their archives are available.
    • These are just a very few of the data rich sites students can use to complete research, instead of just using Google and not always knowing their source of the information.

*If students accesses the site at school, there is no login needed. If students want to use it at home for school work, they can get the username and password from any teacher.

  • Thank You Davis Education Foundation

Thank you, Davis Education Foundation!  Mrs. Jensen was awarded $500 from the Davis Education Foundation through a Cash for Classrooms grant.  Logitech headsets with microphones were purchased for the students to learn how to manipulate digital audio and add voice recording to presentations.

The students will use the headphones to listen to digital audio, combine three audio files, and add the audio to their movie.  The students will also add voice audio to presentations.  The students last semester enjoyed making their movies, combining audio files for their background music, and watching the movies they created.  The students will also use the headphones for watching informational videos.

To find this app, go to iPhone's App Store or Google Play for the Android; type in Davis School District and the app will be available for download.

  • Boundary variance requests available

map pinpoint Students wishing to attend a school other than their boundary school during the 2018-19 school year can now file a variance request. Boundary variance requests will be accepted through Feb. 16. This infographic briefly explains the variance process.

Variance approvals are made based on district policy, which is available here. The district follows state law in its designation of open schools.

Schools above capacity are closed to open enrollment. The open/closed status of each school is available here. For open schools, if the number of applications exceeds the open enrollment spots, a random selection process is used.

Variance applications MUST be submitted online using your My.DSD accountClick here for step-by-step instructions.

Written notification will be sent to each applicant by April 1.

    • District Apps put information at your fingertips

The Davis School District has two apps available that could make life a little easier for parents.

My DSD The My DSD app works much like the My DSD portal on each school’s website. Parents can see their student’s schedule, academic grade and absences, receive notifications about lunch balances and even view assignments and information about a teacher. It can be downloaded on a smartphone or iPad. Click the My DSD icon for more information.nutrislice

The Nutrislice app will help parents answer that question: “What’s for lunch today?” Parents can look at the menu weeks in advance and even get nutritional information about each item. To download from the AppStore, click on the School Lunch icon.
