Parent volunteers are need for the following two programs:
SRC - We need parent or community members who can come and help during SRC times on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:50 - 10:20. You don't need to come every time. We need volunteers who would like to come and share a skill or teach a mini class for students who are all caught up on their school work. We also need volunteers who are willing to help students with homework or help monitor students in classes. If you are willing to help please email Paulynn Hacking at
Reality Town - Parents and community members are needed to help run Reality Town for our 8th grade students. Reality Town will be held Thursday November 6, 2014 from 9:00 - 11:30. Reality Town is an activity where students are given a career and life scenario. Students use the information to build the life they would like by visiting booths and purchasing the items they need such as housing, transportation, insurance, childcare, etc. We need parents to sit at booths helping student in purchasing items. You don't need to have any special knowledge about your booth, your life experience is all that is needed. We need 75 community volunteers to run this great program. You don't need to have a 8th grade student to volunteer. If you are able to help please email Paulynn Hacking at

The department of the month for September is the Fine Arts Department. We have an outstanding Fine Arts Department at Farmington Junior High. The teachers in this department include:

    Mr. Wolf - Band
    Mrs. Wolf - Band
    Mrs. Wadley - Choir
    Mrs. Silva - Orchestra
    Miss Gustaveson - Art, Yearbook
    Mr. Woodfield - Art
Band - Mr. Wolf runs an award winning Band program. Over the years Mr. Wolf and the students at FJH have participated in multiple performance opportunities. Mr. Wolf helps students excell in developing their musical talents. The Band program would not be complete without Mrs. Wolf assistance in teaching 66 Beginning Woodwind students.
Orchestra - Mrs. Silva has a great Orchestra program at Farmington. She also teaches at other schools in the district. She has been working on building her program to include more students.
Choir - Mrs. Wadley is new to Farmington Jr. we are excited to have her join the faculty. She brings great talent and enthusiasm for the arts. Great sounds have be coming from the Choir room.
Art - Mr. Woodfield and Miss Gustaveson each contribute their talents to the Art Department. Students are able to participate in a variety of artistic medium. Students have produced incredible works of art. Students have participated in yearly art shows.
Thanks FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT!  Drop your Fine Arts Teacher an email or note this month telling them what you like about their class.
