Book characters on parade
As a school our business is literacy: science literacy, mathematics literacy and language arts literacy. To support that, Vae View will have a fun school activity planned to promote reading. Para una version en Espanol, haga clic aqui.
A Book Character Parade at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 will provide an opportunity for students to wear the costume of a favorite book character from a book they have already read or a book they want to read. Since this is a literacy activity every child will carry a copy of the book their character is from during the Book Character Parade.
Children should come to school in their regular school clothes. Parents are encouraged to help their children change into their costumes at noon. Reasonable face makeup may be applied at this time. The school will not have the staff to assist in putting on the young children’s costumes.
Please do not make the costumes overly elaborate; costumes should fit into a backpack during the school day.
Please follow the following guidelines to ensure that your child is able to participate in a safe and fun way.
Families are invited to come to the school and watch the parade.
