  • boxtops  BPE will be collecting Boxtops on
September 27th for grades K-2 and 29th for grades 3-6

This is a great way for our school to earn money for field trips with very little effort or expense on our part, so clip away! Here’s what you do… clip em, count em, and label em.  Cut box top labels off food items in your pantry, put your Box Tops in a Ziploc bag, and count them then write how many you have on the outside of the bag before bringing them to school. Your kids will then get to turn their Box Tops in for fun items from the store like bouncy balls, sticky hands, candy, or soda pop. The store will visit each class on their assigned day –no exceptions.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Speech Contest

The Davis School District Educational Equity Department and Equity Committee would like to invite all K-12 students of the Davis School District to enter the 2016-2017 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Speech Contest.  This will give our students the opportunity to reflect on the legacy of Dr. King and what they can do to make a difference.

We encourage parents to share this opportunity with their students.  This contest ties into the DESK standards which focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Speeches must be memorized.  A contestant may deliver their speech in a language other than English.  Each contestant must provide the judges a copy of their speech in English.

Please click on flyer link to view rules and categories.  You will also find a link to the rating form as well as the rules acknowledgement form.  The due date for classroom winners will be October 7th.  The final school judging will be on October 14th.  Due to the nature of the final school-level judging, parents are not involved.  Parents are invited, however to the presentations at the district level.
