Dear Parents: On behalf of Kaysville City and the school district, we are very proud to announce a new, fun and free summer program called Play Unplugged Kaysville. This program will help your children reduce their screen time and motivate them to return to what clinical professionals call ‘real play’ activities, such as riding bikes, exploring, learning new crafts and perhaps picking up new hobbies—in short, your kids will be doing activities other than sitting at home playing video games or watching television all summer!
Play Unplugged Kaysville is completely free for any and all kids in our city. There is absolutely no cost to participate, thanks in part to Zion’s Bank and the sponsoring businesses here in Kaysville! To get involved, the first thing you will need is the Play Unplugged Kaysville lanyard your child brought home from school. Next, parents and kids will choose activities from a list of Brag Badge activities found at www.weplayunplugged.com, which contains all the activities in your area. There are Brag Badges for riding bikes, hunting bugs, making cookies, swimming or even doing your hair in crazy ways! A cool, collectable Brag Badge kids can earn by doing the activity it represents! This should motivate your kids to turn off the computers and television, and go outside and PLAY! Once your child does the activity, you both go to the sponsoring Kaysville business and show them what you did as per the Brag Badge requirement, and you get that colorful and awesome Brag Badge FOR FREE! These collectable Brag Badges are fun tags that your kids can earn and keep on that Play Unplugged Kaysville lanyard. So during Memorial Day Weekend, go online and find out which Brag Badges you and your family want to earn this summer and GET OUTSIDE AND PLAY TO EARN THEM ALL! At the end of the summer or even on a weekly basis, you can compare your Brag Badges with your friends at school or in your neighborhoods to see who has the most ‘brags!’ Play Unplugged Kaysville will begin on Memorial Day weekend and go until Labor Day, so that gives you plenty of time to collect them all. If you have any questions, you can CLICK HERE for a short video, which explains how Play Unplugged works. We look forward to seeing all the kids and their parents in Kaysville participating in this free program this summer! If you have any questions about how to get involved, you can contact Play Unplugged at; email@example.com and tell them which city you live in and they will respond. So get your kids unplugged this summer and have fun earning all the Brag Badges found at Play Unplugged Kaysville! -- Mayor Hiatt and Kaysville City Council
