Shades Staff: There will be a meeting Thursday after school in Miss Merrell's new location Room #188 by the cafeteria. Please be there to discuss judging and deadlines.

Aplications for Utah Boys' State 2010 are now available. The Boys' State experience provides practical learning opportunities, association with those in public service, and new frienships with students from other Utah high schools. The Boys' State learning experience and associated scholarship opportunities represent special opportunities for Layton High School students. Boys' State is open to all interested boys who will complete their junior year this year. Those interested please talk to Mr. Knecht in Portable #3 by Feb. 18th.

Ambassadors we have a lunch meeting today for the full lunch. Please meet in the roomm off the computer lab.

A program that brings students from Germany to experience the American culture and school system for two to three weeks is in need of volunteer host families. This will involve offering students a place to stay, and arranging transportation to and from school. The group will arrive in six weeks. Anyone interested should contact Principal Astle, Mr. Knecht (portable 3) or the PTA president.

Matchmaker surveys are being sold in the commons all this week for only $2.00. There is also candy bars for sale by the Sophomore officers for .75.

Lancers, it is the week you have been waiting for... FBLA week! In celebration we will be selling cookies everyday this week. There will also be drawings, trivia games, and a guessing jar. Come into the commons and participate.

All FBLA members must be signed up for the Spring Competition by Thursday. Go talk to Mrs. Heath or Mrs. Vaughn.

All Tennis team members; meet in Coach Spencer's room Tuesday at noon for 2 minutes.

Davis Youth Summit: A day to learn, and have fun and make up one "U". It will be held on Saturday March 6th at Northridge High School from 12:30 to 5:30. You must register by March 1st. Pick up the registration forms from Mrs. Woods (the citizenship lady) in the copy room.

HOSA: sign up for this years state competiton by the 12th of Feb. Cost is $30.00.
