Charming The World

 

Have you ever wanted to charm the world, but you don't know how? Well, here's how you can; be like Shirley Temple. Shirley Temple has changed and helped a lot of people's lives. Shirley Temple was as kind as she could be to everyone and lived an amazing life.

"I do remember her as quite charming, exactly what you might expect. Shirley Temple charmed the world in the 1930's and still does," said Lark Loundy, a journalist (Errico, page 3). Shirley Temple really did charm the world. Shirley Jane Temple was born in Santa Monica, California on April 23, 1928 and 9:oo p.m. Shirley has two brothers. At the age of 2 she began dancing and singing lessons. At the age 3 1/2 she began her acting career. Asshe grew older, Shirley Temple became less popular (S. Kurt, page 1). Some people beleive Shirley Temple was as popular as she was because she gave the public hope, and entertainment during the depression (Shirley Temple, page 3).

At the age 17, Shirley married Air Force Sgt. John Agar, in 1945. In 1848, Shirley and John had a daughter, Linda Susan. The marriage became a nightmare, when Shirley found out about John's problems with alcohol, and other women. Shirley and John got a divorce on December 5, 1949 (P.Jayme, page 1).

After Shirley's first had gone bad marriage, she fell in love with Charlie Black, a fomer navel officer. They got married, December 16, 1950 by a local justice. Charlie and Shirley had 2 children together, Charlie Jr. in 1952, and Lois Alden Black in 1954. Charlie adopted Susan after Shirley's first marriage (Shirley Temple, page 2).

Shirley Temple is considered one of the most successful child stars in the history of motion pictures (Nieman, page 1). In 1949, Shirley Temple Black retired from acting. Then from 1957-1959, Shirley Temple narrated the television series, "Shirley Temple's Storybook" (Elizabeth, page 2).

As an adult Shirley Temple Black served in many political positions. In 1969-1970 she was a member of the United Nations, and from 1989-1993 she was also an ambassador to Czechoslovakia. In 1988 her autobiography, Child Star, that she has written, was published. Shirley Temple is proud of all her accomplishments, and has recently said, "If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing" (Shirley Temple, page 2).

Shirley Temple Black now has 1 grandchild, Theresa Falaschi.Shirley Temple Black now lives in Woodside, California. Leonard Maltin asked Shirley Temple, "What do you do with your time now? Are you going to write another book?" (Maltin, page 4).

Shirley responds, "Well, now that the house has just been completed and we're in it, and everything that should be in storage is storage. Now I can try to get the dicipline back to write the soncond one," (Maltin page 4). Shirley Temple Black has put in a lot of hard work, and she doesn't even see a dime from those old movies. She is a role model for the future, and we will always remember her as America's Princess (Nieman, page 3).

Shirley Temple doesn't hurt Shirley Temple Black, Shirley Temple helps Shirley Templ e Balck, because Shirley Temple is remembered with love and affection. I am thought as a friend, which I am. Some people are stuck on this image of the little girl, she is not me. We shouldn't live in the past, my life is now! I think upon the me of those days as the little sister. I know her very well, but not as myself. I hope people will remember that I lived, that I didn't just exist" (Shirley Temple, page 1).

Shirley Temple has practically given her life to us so we can have fun in life. She did her best to entertain us and it worked. She even went the extra mile to be a great leader for some. She is so kind and has helped us to change our lives in a better way.
