I. What? (Define the topic in simple terms that you understand clearly.)

IV. Why? (Explain the significance of the topic and the people.)
V. How? (How does your information relate to other topics that are here? Or, how does it apply to us now?)

*You may bring one visual aid (an overhead transparency, a poster, etc.) to illustrate your lecture.

*For this one, read these articles carefully and identify Orwell's main points about the political power of language and writing, his list of writing mistakes (and some updated examples that apply to today's American English), and his suggestions for more effective writing.

Topic #17: Aesop's Fables and How the Leopard Got His Spots
Find some good fables and animal stories to share. Explain why they were/are popular and why animals were used to convey these morals. Also, if you find anything on Aesop, you could share that too.
