in their design and selection, and then create their own Olympic mascot.

Introduction
Instructional Procedures
1. Students visit the AAFLA.COM web site and scroll down to the section
on mascots.
2. Read about the Nagano Snowlets. Fill in the handout about what snowlets
are and what each one represents.
3. Choose three other mascots. Read about each one adding information
to the table. What symbol would represent children of the United States
to you? Why?
4. Draw your own mascot. Select colors appropriate for your mascot.
5. Write a rough draft describing your mascot and why it is an appropriate
mascot for the Olympic games. Edit and write a final draft. Attach your
art work.
