The students will become familiar with the setting of the Nation's anthem and with the unfamiliar words in the later verses.

Instructional Procedures
1. Visit the web site and display a map of fort McHenry.

2. Display the words of the Star Spangled Banner. Discuss any words which are new to the students.

3. Discuss the Francis Scott Key Bridge now in place at about the same spot where the Star Spangled Banner was penned.
