School Choice Option Introduction
|

 |
One provision under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 is the Title I School Choice Option. This plan provides parents of students attending Title I schools that "did not make adequate yearly progress" for two consecutive years, the option of transferring their child to another designated school.
The following Title I schools have been identified to participate in the School Enrollment Option: South Clearfield and Vae View Elementary schools.
While those schools have been identified, the school district, as well as principals, teachers, parents and staff are working to make improvements and institute additional educational services.
If your child is enrolled in his or her home school and that school is listed, you have the choice of keeping your child in his or her enrolled school or of seeking enrollment in another designated school.
If you choose to keep your child in his or her school, then your child will have similar opportunities as in the designated "receiving school". The home school will have integrated instructional programs that will focus on reading, writing, technology and math.
To assist you in your decision, we've briefly highlighted each "sending school" and each designated "receiving school" on the following pages. Please review the options and information carefully.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the principal at your child's home school. Additional information will also be provided to you by your child's home school
And even though a school may be listed as a "sending school," you'll soon find out there are all sorts of efforts, choices, activities and opportunities at all of our schools. |
