|Hello! My name is Bonnie Barlow, and I am starting my 8th year as an elementary school counselor in Davis School District. I have been part-time at Ellison Park Elementary since it opened in 2007, and I was at East Layton Elementary from 2007-2014. I am excited to start my first year at West Bountiful Elementary! If you have not had experience working with an elementary school counselor before, you may not know what I do. A few of the ways I am lucky to be able to support and work with students at Ellison Park and West Bountiful, is through classroom character education lessons and small group and individual sessions. I work with students individually and in small group for a large variety of issues; ranging from friendship skills and classroom behavior, to issues such as anxiety and divorce. At Ellison Park I am also over the "Soar Higher" school wide positive behavior program, Marvin and Jessie life skills assemblies, and am an advisor for the Student Council and Peace Builder Committee. I will be introducing the Marvin and Jessie program to West Bountiful this year! If you are interested in learning more details about elementary school counseling, you may find these links helpful:|

Other than being fortunate enough to do a job that I love, here are a few other things about me. I have lived in Utah my entire life, and went to school in Davis County. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Weber State University, and a Masters of Science degree in Psychology with Certification in School Counseling from Utah State University. I LOVE to learn! In May 2004 I married my high school sweetheart, and we now reside in Bountiful with our two cats Bowser and Squint. I enjoy many different hobbies that range from reading, writing, gardening, and painting to snow boarding, rock climbing, backpacking, and world travel!
I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to serve in education and I look forward to working with you and your students this year!
