Evacuation Drill

Eagle Bay will hold a school-wide evacuation drill on Friday, May 24. Phone messages will go out around 1:00 p.m. Students will be evacuated to the LDS chapel located on 14 Bonanza Road in Farmington, and can be picked up around 1:25 p.m. Parents and contacts listed on the student emergency card can pick up students. Photo I.D. must be presented for students to be released.

Sixth Grade Graduation

We are thrilled for our sixth grade graduating class and wish them best of luck in their future endeavors. We would like to invite the parents of our sixth grade students to join us for a celebration on Friday, June 7th. Dare Graduation will start at 9:00 a.m. Following the graduation, the students will plant a tree together, and then join for lunch with their parents. 6th grade students will be excused to leave with parents after the luncheon. Please contact the sixth grade teachers with questions.

Parent Information

Thank for for your support during this school year! In anticipation of the last few weeks of school, we would like to remind you of a few important policies and procedures. Dress Code: Shorts and skirts shall extend to at least 3 inches above the knee. No short shorts or mini-skirts shall be allowed. No tank tops or tops without a capped edge (needs to have sleeves). No sleeveless dresses, shirts, or blouses. No shirts or blouses showing bare midriffs or bare shoulders are acceptable. Bare or stocking feet slippers are not allowed. Students who violate the dress code will be asked to correct the problem and reminded of the school dress code. If problems continue, parents will be notified and asked to bring appropriate clothes that do not viloate the dress code for the students. Attendance and Arrival Time: Students are expected to be in school every day on time. All classes begin at 8:50 a.m. (except for afternoon Kindergarten which begins at 12:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11:25 a.m. on Friday). Regular and punctual attendance is important for continuity in the school program and improvement of academic skills. Testing: We will be testing now through the last week in May. Please help students get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and be on time and at school every day. Drop Off and Pick Up: Drop off will continue to be on the north and west sides of the building (no drop off on the east side-bus entrance). During good weather, students need to walk around the outside of the school to their house doors to line up for the bell.

Orchestra Registration

It’s time to start registering all interested students going into 6^thgrade for the 2013-2014 school year. The 6^thgrade orchestra program is the very beginning level of the Davis School District orchestra program and continues into junior high and high school as a regular class-period with each year gradually progressing to more advanced levels. It also provides the necessary arts credits your student will need in order to graduate from high school.To learn more about the orchestra program and to answer all the questions you have, you are invited to attend an ORCHESTRA INFORMATION NIGHT on WEDNESDAY, MAY 15^THat 6:00 pm at FARMINGTON JR. HIGH IN THE PORTABLE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE SCHOOL. Please feel free to bring your student. Instruments will be available this night for students and parents to try if they are unsure which instrument to choose. Click here for more information. Keyboarding Homework

Our Eagle Bay 4^th, 5^th and 6^th Graders have been piloting a new web site for keyboarding homework. Kidscantype.com is a great way to get daily keyboarding practice! Keyboarding is an essential computer literacy skill. Being able to sit at a computer and compose an essay, story or other assignment is an important ability. Students need to be able to keyboard quickly and accurately. To get going on keyboarding homework: Go to kidscantype.com (no spaces), click on the Login button, type in the student email-USERNAME@davis.k12.ut.us (also, no spaces), type in the student password (pin number), click on Login, click on Start, HINT --- make sure your caps lock key is OFF while you type.

Get Wired!

Year-Round

We are in the process of planning our transition to a year-round schedule for 2013-2014.
A 2013-2014 calendar, a list of Frequently Asked Questions about Year-Round (FAQ), and an Implementation Timeline were sent home with your student. Track request and registration forms are due Friday, March 8. Track assignments will be sent out Friday, March 29. To access information click here.

Drop Off/Pick Up Policy

Eagle Bay is committed to keeping our students safe. Pick up and drop off will be done ONLY at the West and North (front) doors. The East side of the school building will be for all buses. During good weather, students need to walk around the outside of the school to their house doors to line up for the bell. Please be courteous and patient as you wait for your students to exit the building. We appreciate Farmington's Police Department's help as we implement this change and your support in making this safety plan a success. Detailed Information

Safety Policy

Birthday Table

Once a month, the PTA will be setting up a Birthday Table to celebrate student birthdays. Each child that has a birthday that month is invited to bring a parent, grandparent or friend to have lunch with them at Eagle Bay. Visitors that plan to eat a school lunch, can purchase one for $3.00. You are also welcome to bring lunch into the school. We are so excited to celebrate with you! Schedule
