  • MERIT CORDS 2014:  Seniors who are interested in applying for merit cords to wear at graduation must do so by April 18.  The forms are available on the DHS web site.  If you have any questions, ask the deans:  Mrs. Williams, Mr. Bishop, Mr. Welk, Ms. Coburn, or Mrs. Horstmann.  You may apply for two merit cords. cords

    THE STANDARD EXAMINER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITION will be held on Friday, May 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the downtown Ogden Amphitheater.  Are you in a band?  Find out if your band can perform at Battle of the Bands at (801) 625-4557.  Tickets are available online at events.standard.net

  • ADVANCED THEATER AUDITIONS will be held on April 26 with callbacks on May 2.  Sign up for an audition time slot and pick up your audition packet in the Little Theater starting NOW.

    MANDATORY AP MEETING:  All students taking AP Tests must attend the pre-administration meeting on Tuesday, April 22, at 7:30 a.m. (during late-start time.)  Please bring a #2 pencil with you that morning and meet in the auditorium. 

     
    red cross DAVIS HOSA will sponsor a BLOOD DRIVE on April 30 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Appointments are recommended.  See a HOSA Officer or Health Science teacher to sign up.  One citizenship U make-up is offered.  Sign up with Mrs. Gale in the main office for citizenship make up.  Help us to donate 100 Units for 100 Years of DHS."  
     
    THE 5TH ANNUAL MR. DART PAGEANT will be held this Saturday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  Come watch this year's candidates battle to become Mr. Dart 2014.  Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold at the door.

  • girls x-country 2014 GOVERNOR'S STATE OF SPORT AWARDS:  The girls cross country team has been nominated as the 2013 Utah team of the year (Utah State of Sport Award). The award is chosen by votes and you can vote once per day.Go online to http://www.stateofsportawards.com and vote for Coach Corbin Talley as the "Coach of the Year" and the Davis High Girls' Cross Country Team as the "Team of the Year."

    Citizenship Make-up classes have been scheduled for the following dates:
    April 23rd   2:30 – 5:30 Clears 1 U - $10.00 ($5.00 U fine, $5.00 class fee)
    April 30th– 2:30 – 5:30 Clears 1 U - $10.00 ($5.00 U fine, $5.00 class fee)
    May 7th – 2:30 – 5:30 Clears 1 U - $10.00 ($5.00 U fine, $5.00 class fee)
    May 14th 2:30 – 5:30 Clears 1 U - $10.00 ($5.00 U fine, $5.00 class fee)
     
    ARUP Blood Drive April 30 2:30 In the Commons– Clears 1 U - $5.00
    Alive @25– Defensive Driving Course – May 7th2:30-6:30 - $30.00 Clears 2 U’s
    The Defensive Driving Course is sponsored by the Utah Safety Council. This course will clear 2 citizenship U’s and can
    restore 50 points to your driving record.

    There are 4 ways in which a student can make up their Citizenship Credit:
    1.    4 hours service at DHS only or Community Service thru Kaysville City** (pre-approved) plus $5 fine
    2.    3 hour Citizenship Make-up class and $10.00 ($5 U fine plus $5 class fee)
    3.    2 Fleece Blankets plus $5.00 fine *Click Here for instructions
    4.    Increase GPA by .5 from previous term.

    **Community service that is not pre-approved may not be accepted (see Mrs. Gale or Mr. Firmage for approval.)

  • Moonlight Serenade  Dancers
    April 24 -  April 26
     Join us for
    Kaysvilles Cultural Event of the year!
    The evening includes a full five course meal with your choice of 
    halibut or prime rib, big band era entertainment by the 
    Davis High Jazz Band 
    and Moonlight singers, 
    dancing for patrons ,
    and a floor show by the DHS Dance Company.

  • DAVIS HIGH'S Centennial Gala will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the school.  All graduates and their familiesmosaic D are welcome to come back and meet old friends and share memories of being a Dart.  Dancing and music will be provided by the Davis High Moonlight Jazz Band and Singers; Joe Folkman and the Barracudas, and Davis High's Battle of the Bands winner, Cerulean.  Bell Photography will be on site to take "friend pictures."  Admission is free.  Help us "Build our future by honoring our past."

  • DAVIS HIGH ARTS FESTIVAL:  Come to the Media Center today through Friday to see the amazing artwork created by Davis High students in the fields of digital arts, fine arts, and photography.  Paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry will be on display all week in the Media Center.  Digital Media can be viewed during lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday in room 1801.  An evening reception will display all art categories on Thursday, April 17, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. where awards will be announced and posted.

    GOLDEN LEAVES, Davis High's literary magazine, is now accepting submissions of poetry, stories, art, and photography for this year's edition.  This is your chance to be published in high school.  You may submit your work to www.dhsqoldenleaves14@qumail.com or in hard copy to Mrs. Horstmann in room 1802.  All work will be accepted.  The due date is April 25.

    Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 Microsoft is now offering a free Microsoft Office subscription to our students as part of their District Office 365 account. This subscription allows students to install a full version of the Microsoft Office 2013 software at home on up to 5 devices. Software versions include Office 2013 for PC, Office 2011 for Mac, and Office Mobile for iPhone or Android.
